Community Guidelines

By using KnotSpot, you agree to use the platform responsibly, respect other users, and help maintain a safe student community.

1. Acceptable Use

Users must use KnotSpot respectfully and responsibly.

You agree not to post, upload, send, or share content that includes:

  • Harassment, bullying, or threats
  • Hate speech or discriminatory content
  • Sexually explicit or extreme content
  • Abuse, intimidation, or targeted insults
  • Spam, scams, or repeated disruptive behavior
  • Fake identities or impersonation
  • Private information of others
  • Content that may harm, defame, or mislead another person

Violation of these rules may result in content removal, feature restrictions, suspension, or permanent ban.

2. Matching and Social Features

KnotSpot may use quiz answers, profile information, interests, preferences, campus details, language preferences, and other compatibility signals to suggest matches.

Match scores and recommendations are generated automatically and are intended only as social discovery tools. They do not guarantee compatibility, safety, identity, or future interaction.

Users are responsible for how they communicate and interact with others.

3. Anonymous Confessions

Anonymous confessions are provided for safe, moderated community expression.

Users must not post confessions that include:

  • Real names of students, staff, or individuals
  • Phone numbers, addresses, hostel or room details
  • Screenshots of private chats
  • Personal or sensitive information
  • Defamatory or harmful accusations
  • Harassment, hate speech, or threats
  • Repeated spam or abusive content

Confessions may be automatically filtered, held for admin approval, removed, or reviewed if reported.

KnotSpot reserves the right to remove any confession that may be unsafe, abusive, misleading, or harmful to the community.

4. Roommate Finder

The Roommate Finder feature is provided to help students discover roommates, flats, PGs, hostel options, or shared accommodation opportunities.

Users are responsible for the accuracy of listings they create.

You must not post:

  • Fake or misleading accommodation listings
  • Scam listings
  • Someone else’s property or contact details without permission
  • Unsafe or inappropriate location details
  • Content that violates privacy or safety rules

5. Public Wall and Community Features

Public community features such as walls, posts, reactions, or interactive spaces must be used respectfully.

Users must not upload, draw, write, or share:

  • Vulgar or obscene content
  • Hateful or abusive content
  • Targeted harassment
  • Private information
  • Spam or repeated disruptive content
  • Content intended to damage the platform or community experience

Admins may remove content, reset public areas, restrict access, or ban users if misuse occurs.
